Base44 alternatives in 2026: 10 options by what you're building
Ten Base44 alternatives with 2026 prices from each vendor, which free plans can publish, and picks for business apps, founders, open source and no-code.
The best Base44 alternatives in 2026 are Lovable, Bolt, Replit and v0 for a software product, and GoodTaco, Zite, Softr or Glide for a business app on your own data. For open source, try Dyad. Bubble suits people who want a visual editor.
This guide is for people who tried Base44, or are about to, and want to see what else fits. It groups ten options by the job they do, shows which free plans can publish a live app, and ends with a step-by-step plan for moving off Base44.
Reviewed October 2026. Prices come from each vendor’s own pricing page and can change.
How we compared them
We read each tool’s pricing page and help docs in October 2026 and linked every price and limit to its source. We judged each on where your records live, who can sign in, what a month costs and how you’d leave. GoodTaco is our product, so its limitation is listed the same way.

What is Base44, and why do people switch?
Base44 is an AI app builder that Wix acquired in June 2025. You describe an app in plain language, and Base44 builds it on its own back end, with the database, sign-in and hosting included. Workspaces can add unlimited members without buying seats. For a quick standalone app, that’s a lot in one place.
Here are the plans from Base44’s pricing page. Prices are billed annually, which saves 20% over paying monthly. The free plan allows up to 5 apps, and since February 6, 2026, a new private app needs Starter or higher (Base44 billing docs).
| Base44 plan | Price | Message credits a month | Integration credits a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 25 (up to 5 a day) | 100 |
| Starter | $16/month | 100 | 2,000 |
| Builder | $40/month | 250 | 10,000 |
| Pro | $80/month | 500 | 20,000 |
| Elite | $160/month | 1,200 | 50,000 |
The reasons people look elsewhere usually come down to four things.
- Building and running are billed separately. Message credits pay for building with the AI. Integration credits are spent when your app’s users trigger AI calls, file uploads, emails or push notifications. If integration credits run out, those actions fail and your users see a generic error. Unused credits expire at each reset.
- AI mistakes still cost you. On the free plan, automatic error fixes use message credits. Paid plans fix errors for free, and a Revert button undoes a bad change, but credits already spent on AI mistakes aren’t refunded.
- Code export starts on Builder. You can export code to GitHub or as a ZIP on the Builder plan ($40 a month billed annually) or higher. The managed hosting, sign-in system and database infrastructure aren’t exportable, so leaving means rebuilding those.
- Your records live in Base44. Apps keep their data in Base44’s built-in database. Connectors for Google Sheets and Airtable can sync data, and they need the Builder plan or higher.
None of this makes Base44 a bad pick. If you want one tool for the whole stack and your usage fits its credits, it does the job.
Which Base44 alternatives fit business apps on your own data?
These four build business apps such as CRMs, trackers, portals and dashboards, and they care about where your records already live. If you need a Base44 alternative for work, start here.
1. GoodTaco (our product)
GoodTaco is our AI app builder for business apps. You describe the app in plain language, and it builds a working web app with screens, forms, search, dashboards and sign-in in minutes.
The main difference from Base44 is where your data lives. GoodTaco can build on a Google Sheet your team already uses, and the sheet stays the source of truth because the app reads and writes that same sheet. It also works on an Airtable base you already have, or on a built-in database when you start from scratch. If your data sits in an Excel workbook or a CSV file, you can upload it without an account (up to 10 MB and 2,000 records per upload) and get an app back, then create a free account to keep it.
- Best for: CRMs, trackers, client portals, approval flows and dashboards for teams that already run on spreadsheets or Airtable.
- Where it beats Base44: It runs on the sheet or base you already keep.
- Pricing: Free plan with no credit card; paid plans from $9 a month, priced per workspace rather than per app user (see GoodTaco pricing).
- Also worth knowing: App users sign in with Google or an emailed sign-in link, and private apps show data only to the users or roles you choose. Every change goes into version history, so you can roll back an edit the AI got wrong, and you can export any version of the app’s code as a zip file.
- The real limitation: GoodTaco connects to six tools today: Google Sheets, Airtable, Jira, Smartsheet, Zendesk and Zoho CRM. If your records live in a tool outside that list, or you need a consumer app in the app stores, another option here will fit better.
- Verdict: A good pick when the app has to run on records your team already keeps in a sheet or base.
2. Zite
Zite is an AI builder for business software with its own built-in database. It also connects to Google Sheets with two-way sync and reads and writes Airtable records, and every plan, including Free, allows unlimited users.
- Best for: Internal tools and portals where many people need to sign in.
- Where it beats Base44: Unlimited apps, even on Free, where Base44 stops at 5.
- Pricing: Free plan with 50 AI credits a month and 5,000 records, and free apps carry Zite branding. Pro is $20 a month billed annually, with 100 credits a month and 100,000 records (Zite pricing).
- The real limitation: Building runs on AI credits, and the free plan allows 10 messages a day, so heavy iteration means upgrading.
- Verdict: A strong option if the number of app users is your main cost worry. Read about GoodTaco as a Zite alternative.
3. Softr
Softr calls itself the AI app builder for business operations. Its AI Co-Builder creates the database, pages, user roles and business logic from a description, and every plan, including Free, connects to Airtable, Google Sheets and Notion as well as Softr’s own databases.
- Best for: Client portals and internal tools on top of an Airtable base.
- Where it beats Base44: Airtable and Google Sheets on every plan, while Base44’s connectors need Builder.
- Pricing: Free plan with 5 app users and 5,000 records. Basic is $19 a month billed annually or $25 month to month, and Pro is $99 a month billed annually. Free and Basic apps carry Softr branding (Softr pricing).
- The real limitation: App users are limited by plan. Pro includes 10 team users and 50 client users, with more available for a fee, and Google sign-in for app users starts on Pro.
- Verdict: A mature pick for Airtable portals. Read about GoodTaco as a Softr alternative.
4. Glide
Glide’s current platform, GlideOS, builds internal business apps from a spreadsheet, a prompt or a file. Glide Classic, the original no-code builder, is now a separate product, and GlideOS needs its own subscription (Glide pricing).
- Best for: Operations teams that want internal apps starting from a spreadsheet.
- Where it beats Base44: It reads the spreadsheet you upload, including its relationships and logic.
- Pricing: The free plan is for building and includes no published apps. Basic is $25 a month with 2 published apps, and Plus is $50 a month with 5 published apps and public publishing.
- The real limitation: Published apps are capped by plan, so the price climbs as you add apps.
- Verdict: Worth a look for internal apps. Read about GoodTaco as a Glide alternative.
Which apps like Base44 suit founders building a product?
These are the closest apps like Base44: you chat, the AI writes real code, and the tool hosts the result. They suit founders building a product to sell more than teams building on records they already have.
5. Lovable
Lovable builds web apps from chat and includes Lovable Cloud, a built-in back end with a database, file storage and sign-in.
- Best for: Founders who want their code in GitHub from day one.
- Where it beats Base44: GitHub sync and private projects on Free, including publishing to invited people only.
- Pricing: Free plan with 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month, and an “Edit with Lovable” badge. Pro starts at $25 a month, or $21 a month billed annually, for 100 credits (Lovable plans).
- The real limitation: One credit balance pays for building, hosting and AI features inside your app, and apps with significant traffic can cost more than the included hosting grant (Lovable pricing).
- Verdict: The closest like-for-like swap for Base44, with an easier way out. Read about GoodTaco as a Lovable alternative.
6. Bolt
Bolt builds sites and apps from prompts, with hosting and unlimited databases on every plan (Bolt pricing). You can download a project as a zip file or sync it to GitHub.
- Best for: Quick prototypes and sites you may hand to a developer later.
- Where it beats Base44: Unused tokens on paid plans stay valid for two months, while Base44’s unused credits expire at each reset.
- Pricing: Free plan with 1 million tokens a month (300,000 a day) and Bolt branding. Pro is $25 a month billed monthly, starting at 10 million tokens, with custom domains.
- The real limitation: Bolt’s token docs say most token use comes from reading and syncing your project’s files, so the bigger the project, the more each message uses.
- Verdict: Pick Bolt if you want the code in hand early. Read about GoodTaco as a Bolt alternative.
7. Replit
Replit is a cloud workspace where an AI Agent builds the app and you can work on the code yourself. Every Replit app comes with a built-in database that Agent can set up for you.
- Best for: Builders who want to grow into the code.
- Where it beats Base44: You work with all the code from day one and can download the project as a zip.
- Pricing: Starter is free, with a daily Agent allowance and one published app that goes down after 30 days. Core is $20 a month, or $18 billed annually, and Pro is $100, or $90 billed annually (Replit pricing).
- The real limitation: Paid work uses effort-based pricing tied to how complex each request is, which makes a month’s spend harder to predict.
- Verdict: More control than Base44, and more to learn. Read about GoodTaco as a Replit alternative.
8. v0
v0 is Vercel’s AI app builder. Apps deploy to Vercel and sync with GitHub, and databases such as Supabase, Neon and Upstash connect through the Vercel Marketplace.
- Best for: Teams that already deploy on Vercel.
- Where it beats Base44: Design Mode and GitHub sync on Free.
- Pricing: Free plan with a limit of 7 messages a day. Plus is $30 per user a month with $30 of monthly credits per user, and Business is $100 per user a month (v0 docs).
- The real limitation: Paid plans are priced per user, and your database runs with a separate provider you sign up for.
- Verdict: The natural choice if your team already lives on Vercel. Read about GoodTaco as a v0 alternative.
What about Cursor or Claude Code? Both are AI coding tools for developers. Claude Code or Codex can also build GoodTaco apps with your own AI subscription, without GoodTaco credits.
Are there open-source Base44 alternatives?
Yes. Dyad and bolt.diy are open-source alternatives to Base44 and Lovable that you run yourself.
9. Dyad
Dyad is a free, open-source app builder that runs on your own computer, on macOS, Windows or Linux. You bring your own AI keys or local models, connect Supabase or Neon for a database and sign-in, and deploy to GitHub and Vercel.
- Best for: People who want no platform lock-in and are comfortable managing keys and hosting.
- Where it beats Base44: The free version runs on your own AI keys, so there are no platform credits, and you keep the code.
- Pricing: Dyad is free, and Dyad Pro is $20 a month with 200 AI credits. You pay your AI provider and your host.
- The real limitation: You run everything yourself: AI keys, the database, hosting and updates.
- Verdict: The honest answer to “open-source Base44”, and a poor fit for most non-technical teams.
Also consider bolt.diy. bolt.diy is an MIT-licensed project that lets you choose the AI model for every prompt from more than 20 providers, and you run it locally, in Docker or as a desktop app. Its README says current work is bug fixes and updates, with no new features planned.
What if you’d rather build visually?
If chat alone feels like too little control, a visual editor gives you more.
10. Bubble
Bubble is a no-code platform with a visual editor. It can generate a first version of a web app from a prompt, then you switch between prompting and editing. It includes a built-in database, hosting, and publishing to iOS and Android.
- Best for: Complex apps where you want to control every workflow yourself.
- Where it beats Base44: You can edit logic and privacy rules by hand.
- Pricing: Free plan for building, with a development version only and no live app. The web-only Starter plan is $29 a month billed annually until October 20, 2026, then $32 ($39 month to month), and Starter for web and mobile is $59 a month billed annually (Bubble pricing, Bubble’s announcement). Building with Bubble’s AI Agent uses AI credits: 500 a month on Free and 1,000 on Starter.
- The real limitation: Apps are built in Bubble’s own visual language rather than standard code, and usage is metered in workload units.
- Verdict: A lot of control without code, if you’re willing to learn the editor. Read about GoodTaco as a Bubble alternative.
Is Lovable a good Base44 alternative?
Both turn a chat into a hosted app with a back end, and both let you add unlimited members to a workspace. The differences are code access, privacy on the free plan and billing.
| Base44 | Lovable | |
|---|---|---|
| Code in GitHub | Builder plan and up | Every plan, including Free |
| Private apps on the free plan | No | Yes |
| How usage is billed | Message credits plus integration credits | One credit balance for building, hosting and AI |
Pick Base44 if you want everything managed in one place and want building and app AI use budgeted separately. Pick Lovable if you want your code in GitHub from the start, or expect a developer to take it over later. For more detail, read our full Base44 vs Lovable comparison.
Is Replit a good Base44 alternative?
Replit is closer to a developer’s workspace than Base44 is. It puts the code in front of you, and its Core plan includes up to 5 collaborators.
| Base44 | Replit | |
|---|---|---|
| Team members | Unlimited | Core: up to 5 collaborators |
| Code | In-app code edits from Starter; export from Builder | All of it, with a zip download |
| How usage is billed | Message credits plus integration credits | Credits, with effort-based pricing for paid work |
Pick Base44 if you never want to look at code and want sign-in and the database handled for you. Pick Replit if you expect to open the code or plan to bring in a developer. For more detail, read our full Base44 vs Replit comparison.
How do you choose between Base44 competitors?
These criteria separate the Base44 competitors that fit your work from the ones that don’t.
- Where your data lives. If your records are already in Google Sheets or Airtable, start with a builder that works on them directly, such as GoodTaco, Zite or Softr. If you’re starting fresh, a built-in database is fine.
- Who signs in. Count your builders, your team and your clients. v0 charges for each person who builds, Softr includes a set number of app users per plan and charges for more, Zite allows unlimited users, and GoodTaco prices per workspace, with 10 users included on Pro.
- What a normal month costs. Add building and running together. Base44’s integration credits, GoodTaco’s monthly app runs, Lovable’s hosting usage, Bolt’s tokens, Replit’s effort-based pricing and Bubble’s workload units all grow with use.
- How you’d leave. Check what you can export, whether that’s code, data or both, and what stays behind, like hosting and sign-in.
- Web app or app store. Bubble publishes to iOS and Android, and Base44 can generate the files you upload to the App Store and Google Play. For an internal tool, a web app your team opens in a browser is usually enough.
- What happens when the AI gets it wrong. Look for version history with rollback, and check whether error fixes use credits.
How to move from Base44 to another builder, step by step
1. Export each table as a CSV file
In Base44, open Dashboard, then Data, pick a table, open the More actions menu and choose Export. The data downloads as a CSV file you can open in Excel or Google Sheets.
2. Export your code if your plan includes it
On Builder or higher, export to GitHub or download a ZIP. You get the app’s code and server functions, but not the hosting, the sign-in system or the database infrastructure.
3. Write down what the app does
List every screen, form, sign-in rule, email and scheduled task. That list becomes your test plan for the new app.
4. Choose where the data will live
Decide whether your records belong in a Google Sheet or Airtable base your team already edits, or in the new tool’s database. With GoodTaco you can do either: import the CSV into a Google Sheet and build on it, or upload the CSV and get an app back in minutes. Each upload takes up to 10 MB and 2,000 records, and you create a free account to keep the app.
5. Rebuild the busiest workflow first
Start with the workflow people use every day. Test it with real records, then add the rest.
6. Invite your users and switch over
Set up sign-in and permissions, have a few people try the new app, then move everyone over. Keep your Base44 export as a backup.
Build your business app on the data you already have
If you looked at Base44 for a CRM, a tracker, a client portal or an approval flow, the screens are the easy part. The hard part is keeping one copy of the truth that the whole team trusts.
GoodTaco builds the app on the Google Sheet or Airtable base your team already uses, so nobody has to change where they work. Describe the app, and GoodTaco builds it in minutes. You change it by asking for changes. Hosting is included, and apps can send reminders and approval notices from your Gmail. If you ever move on, you can export any version of the app’s code as a zip file.
Start free and build your first app on the data you already have.
Frequently asked questions
What are the best Base44 alternatives?
For a software product, Lovable, Bolt, Replit and v0 are the closest matches. For a business app on data you already have, look at GoodTaco, Zite, Softr or Glide, and for open source, try Dyad or bolt.diy. Bubble suits people who want a visual editor.
Is there a free alternative to Base44?
Yes. GoodTaco, Zite, Softr, Lovable, Bolt, v0 and Replit all have free plans that can publish a live app, though Replit's free app goes down after 30 days. Dyad is free and open source if you bring your own AI keys, while Glide's and Bubble's free plans are for building only.
What are open-source alternatives to Base44 or Lovable?
Dyad is a free, open-source app builder that runs on your own computer with your own AI keys, and bolt.diy is an MIT-licensed project that lets you pick the AI model for every prompt. Both give you the code, but you handle the AI keys, the database and the hosting yourself.
Is Base44 free to use?
Base44 has a free plan with 25 message credits a month (up to 5 a day), 100 integration credits and up to 5 apps. Since February 6, 2026, new private apps need a paid plan, and paid plans start at $16 a month billed annually.
Can I export my app from Base44?
On the Builder plan or higher you can export the app's code to GitHub or as a ZIP file, and you can export each table of data as a CSV file. Base44's docs say the managed hosting, the sign-in system and the database infrastructure are not exportable, so moving means rebuilding those parts.
Who owns Base44?
Wix announced its acquisition of Base44 in June 2025. Wix said Base44 would continue to operate as a distinct product and business.
Which Base44 alternative works with my Google Sheets or Airtable data?
GoodTaco builds apps on a Google Sheet or Airtable base you already use, and with a Google Sheet the app reads and writes that same sheet, so it stays the source of truth. Zite offers two-way Google Sheets sync and reads and writes Airtable records, and Softr connects to both on every plan.
